In direct collaboration with the artist and his team, Asian Logistics Agencies contributed to the success of this amazing project, as regards the logistics and the fine art transport.<\/p>\n
The sculpture, measuring seven meters high and nine meters wide, represents a baby who is ready to be born from its mother’s womb.<\/p>\n
It’s made up of two parts, coming from different countries:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Part A: the “Pelvis”, that is a large pelvic bone made of cast aluminum, shipped from China using the sea transport service for a total of three containers (2X40’HC + 1X20’DV inside which the structure was divided into 6 pieces)<\/li>\n
- Part B: a child made of stainless steel mesh, arriving from Spain by truck service, divided into various pieces as well (for a total of 3 trucks)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Our contribution mostly focused on the import customs operations and the container inland transport in Italy.<\/p>\n
Once the T1 document<\/a> was issued, we were able to transfer the containers from port of La Spezia to the intermodal terminal Marghera, where they were unstuffed.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nThe customs clearance of part A, of Chinese origin and therefore from outside Europe, took place under the temporary admission regime. We remember that:<\/p>\n
“The temporary admission system permits the temporary importation of non-EU goods, for various uses, with total or partial exemption from customs duties (duty and VAT) and without the application of commercial policy measures. Goods under temporary admission must be re-exported without having undergone any changes apart from the normal depreciation due to use.”<\/em>\u00a0(adm.gov.it<\/a>)<\/p>\n
Once Spanish trucks containing the child in a steel mesh were all unstuffed as well, the artist was able to proceed with the assembly of the various components.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nThe two individual structures were transported by boat to the garden of Palazzo Corner, Venice, where they were definitively merged into a single sculpture.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nBaby 3.0 was officially inaugurated on 14 July in the garden of Palazzo Corner where it will be exposed from July 15 to October 31.<\/p>\n
