{"id":52953,"date":"2022-09-26T14:46:46","date_gmt":"2022-09-26T12:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.caribe.me\/ala\/pre-registration-of-the-aci-egypt-extended-to-the-air-freight\/"},"modified":"2025-09-08T15:35:54","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T13:35:54","slug":"pre-registration-of-the-aci-egypt-extended-to-the-air-freight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asianlogistics.net\/en\/pre-registration-of-the-aci-egypt-extended-to-the-air-freight\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre-registration of the ACI Egypt extended to the air freight"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The system\u2019s mandatory implementation will begin on 1 January 2023, instead of 1 October 2022<\/h3>\n<p>From 1 January 2023, the pre-registration of the Advanced Cargo Information System (ACI) will become mandatory for all air freight cargo as well.<\/p>\n<p>The trial period of the pre-registration system for the air shipments, available from the 15th of May 2022, is extended to the end of December.<\/p>\n<p>Originally supposed to take effect on October 1, 2022, the Egyptian government has just postponed the official launch of the Advance Cargo Information Air (ACI AIR) system to next year.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, the Egyptian customs had introduced the &#8220;Advanced Cargo Information&#8221; (ACI) electronic system for sea shipments, with the\u00a0 purpose of simplifying and speeding up the procedures for releasing goods.<\/p>\n<h4>Brief summary of the ACI procedure<\/h4>\n<p>The\u00a0ACI process\u00a0is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"style--03\">\n<li>Exporters must create and verify a CargoX account while importers are required to register on Nafeza and obtain electronic signature. The importer is required to register primary &amp; detailed information about the shipment (including the VAT number of the importer and the exporter and the customs nomenclature of the goods -HS CODE) in order to request the issuance of the ACID number,<\/li>\n<li>Upon approval, Nafeza will issue the ACID number, which is the unique number indicating imported shipments to Egypt. The ACID number uniquely identifies the shipment and it is valid for 3 months. Nafeza will send the number to the Importer, Exporter &amp; Bank.<\/li>\n<li>The exporter submits the documents (bill of lading, commercial invoice, and Packing list etc..) to Nafeza via Cargo X at least 48 hours before the vessel arrival at destination\u00a0 . The ACID number must be compulsorily reported on all documents relating to the shipment, together with the importer&#8217;s Tax Number and the exporter commercial registration number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In relation to the certificates of origin (if required by the customer), the ACID number can be reported in the field No. 5 &#8220;comments&#8221; ; similarly, the ACID number can be reported in the field No. 7 &#8220;comments&#8221; of the EUR.1 forms (if required by the customer).<\/p>\n<h4>Updates<\/h4>\n<p>From 1 January 2023, the Advanced Cargo Information System (ACI) is become mandatory for air cargo as well.<\/p>\n<p>Contact your freight forwarder in Italy for your sea freight and air shipments to Egypt!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The system\u2019s mandatory implementation will begin on 1 January 2023, instead of 1 October 2022 From 1 January 2023, the pre-registration of the Advanced Cargo Information System (ACI) will become mandatory for all air freight cargo as well.
